The Trenchless Sewer, Pipe, and Drain Repair Process
DrainMaster features modern trenchless sewer line repair methods that eliminate costly, time-consuming excavation. Other companies utilize the standard dig-and-replace technique, which requires that a four-foot deep trench be dug for the full length of the pipe so that it can be removed and replaced. Any property structures or landscaping features along the dig area must be destroyed. Our method allow repair or even replacement of the sewer line while it’s still buried in the ground, which protects your valuable assets.
By eliminating the excavation, DrainMaster’s sewer line repair technology provides many benefits to our customers. Unlike a typical repair process of days or weeks, DrainMaster can restore or replace a damaged sewer line in as little as one day, dramatically reducing the disruption to daily home life or business traffic. Less equipment and fewer labor hours also significantly reduces the cost of a sewer repair project, usually to half of what you’d pay for a traditional repair. Further, our repair methods protect plant and animal life, reduce erosion, and eliminate landfill waste, making it a much more environmentally-friendly repair method.
How Trenchless No-Dig Sewer Repair Beats Traditional Sewer, Pipe, and Drain Repair
Many damaged pipes can be restored and saved using our advanced pipe lining technology. This method, referred to as cured-in-place pipe lining, or CIPP, uses an engineered, ultra-strong epoxy to create a new pipe right inside of the old one, restoring it to better-than-new function without the need for removal. The epoxy not only seals cracks and holes but can actually form new areas of pipe where the old one disintegrated from corrosion or age.
To apply the liner, the DrainMaster technician inserts a soft sleeve covered in the resin into the damaged pipe, then expands it with air or water to shape the new pipe pressed against the interior of the damaged one. Over the next several hours, the epoxy cures and hardens until a new pipe is formed. This replacement pipe has a smooth surface to facilitate waste removal, so while it does reduce the pipe diameter by about one-quarter of an inch, the ultimate function is improved beyond original specifications.
The repair material is also more damage-resistant than typical pipe materials. It is rustproof and does not corrode, so deterioration is less common. Its seamless construction repels tree root penetration, one of the most frequent causes of sewer pipe damage and obstruction. The material even withstands extreme temperatures, earthquake stress and weather damage. Once DrainMaster has restored your damaged pipe, you won’t need to worry about it again for years to come.
